    Learn as much as possible about:
    • Basic word processing

    • One of the most important activities
    • Where?: hospitals, nursing care centers, clinics, etc.
    • Why?: Gives insight into the profession & demonstrates a sincere interest in the field
  6. Seek out MENTORS (local doctor, etc.)
  7. WRITING & CRITICAL THINKING: Plan a challenging, college-prep curriculum in high school
  8. Begin communications with AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges) to obtain information regarding

    • Enrichment programs
    • Research
    • Mentors
    • Etc.
  9. Participate in special ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS
    • When?: AFTER SCHOOL, SATURDAY, SUMMER

      3. Local hospitals & other health-care agencies
      4. AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges)

  10. Talk to ADMISSIONS OFFICERS at Medical Schools
  11. Investigate BACK-UP CAREER OPTIONS
    • An undergraduate major which will result in gainful employment, if not accepted into medical school
    • or, if interested in creative ways to finance your medical education
  12. Investigate ALTERNATE PATHWAYS to Medical School
    • Early acceptance
    • Articulation agreements
    • Special tracts which guarantee acceptance
